Regardless of the venue, your massage therapist is equipped with a comfortable massage table, clean sheets and a warming blanket that can be adjusted to your preferred comfort level. By scheduling your massage at Back to Health, we can assist you in developing a structured plan to meet your wellness goals. It may also be possible for us to bill your massage therapy through your health insurance*. In some cases, your only financial responsibility may be a low, affordable co-payment.
*Note: To learn if your health insurance provider covers massage therapy, please contact us or your health insurance carrier. Massage therapy can only be billed to your insurance if your provider offers coverage for chiropractic and massage treatments, and only when your treatment is part of a regular chiropractic program.
Before your first massage...
Download and complete our client intake form and bring it with you to your first visit, or plan to arrive 15 minutes early to complete the necessary paperwork. This time is valuable to help us understand your medical history, past and present injuries, and any physical conditions that we should be aware of prior to any session. We will spend a few minutes getting to know your current health condition, discussing areas of concern, pain or discomfort, and developing a treatment plan to best meet your needs. It's very important to let your therapist know of any changes to your health, so when there are changes, let us know so we can update your records accordingly!
During your massage...
It's not uncommon for our clients to fall asleep during their massages. This is quite normal and a good sign that we're doing a good job. Conversations during the massage session are typically limited in order to encourage our clients to relax and focus on their treatment. Throughout the massage, your body will be draped, except for the area that is being treated. Should you feel too warm or cold, please let us know so that we can make adjustments to ensure your comfort.
After your massage...
Massage therapy increases blood circulation throughout your entire body, and toxins that were once locked deep within your tissue cells may be released. We encourage you to drink plenty of water before and after your massage in order to hydrate your body and help rid it of these toxins. Depending on your treatment, you may experience light-headedness or minor soreness in the areas that were massaged. Please take your time getting up and off the massage table.
